Merchant One is a company that claims to pride itself on customer service. Unfortunately the voice of their customers speaks to a different narrative and have flooded the BBB over the past few months with complaints.

Typical complaints include:

• Poor/Very Poor Customer Service
• High PCI Compliance Fee (Not Disclosed During the Sign Up Process)
• Cancellation Fee (Not Disclosed During the Sign Up Process)
• Misrepresentation of contract length. The Cancellation/Termination fee when it was disclosed was often said to be a 1 year contract when their standard contract is actually 3 years in length (typically noted in Section 23 of their full contract)

Customer Service is only one factor in the rankings however they were also unable to make a great impression in any category.

While introductory rates were fairly competitive they were in no way impressive numbers that made us turn our heads. While often this can be a good indication of a company with few surprises later on, as the comments on the BBB and RipOff Report claim this is not the case.
